Airlines Awards Remediation Contract to EDSG

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA, June 2003 - Environmental Data Solutions Group, LLC (EDSG) has been awarded a remediation contract with a major U.S. airline at the Los Angeles International Airport.

Historically, EDSG has focused exclusively on providing services to support environmental, health and safety (EHS) information management. However, due to recent staff additions EDSG has gained extensive expertise in the remediation arena and is now offering services in this sector. "EDSG was the clear choice for us. With recently added remediation experience and proven commitment to client service and dedication, we are excited to partner with EDSG in this important remediation project. EDSG's unique focus on EHS data management will enable the team to more intelligently manage and interpret subsurface data to provide an optimal remediation strategy and reduce overall clean up time," said Leah Raney, Director of Environmental Affairs at a Major U.S. Airline.

Joanne Schroeder, P.E., co-founder and partner at EDSG, noted "Remediation services and EHS information management expertise is a strategic advantage for our company. In our opinion, we believe nearly all consultants fall short in analyzing and interpreting data in a way that best leverages technology. Consultants typically produce revenue by the amount of billable hours they generate. There is little incentive to perform smarter and faster. EDSG believes that our proprietary approaches, which leverage our information-centric orientation, are long overdue in this industry and will save this major U.S. airline substantial time and money over the course of this project. We plan to apply our technologies to other clients in the near future and distinguish ourselves as a niche player in this market."

If you would like further information regarding EDSG please contact Joanne Schroeder at 949/457-3497 or at info@edsgrp.com . EDSG is the industry leader in utilizing EHS information. More information about EDSG can be found by visiting their web site at http://www.edsgrp.com/.

EDSG Implements Air Quality and Compliance Management EMIS for City Utilities of Springfield

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA, February 9, 2004 - City Utilities of Springfield, Missouri (CU) selected Environmental Data Solutions Group, LLC (EDSG) to design and implement an air quality and compliance management environmental management information system (EMIS) for their two coal-burning power generation plants, a water treatment plant and nine supporting facilities.

CU, a 50-year municipally owned utility company providing electricity, natural gas, water, telecommunications, and public transportation services, selected EDSG because of their accelerated design methods. EDSG's accelerated requirements definition (ARD) method allowed CU to rapidly assess their needs and design an appropriate solution approach. Furthermore, EDSG's proven track record and history working in the power and utility industries made EDSG the clear choice for CU. EDSG's responsiveness and flexibility are key attributes that allowed CU to utilize EDSG resources while keeping headcount and overhead costs minimized.

"As a public agency, we conducted a very rigorous screening and selection process when looking for a consultant to help us. EDSG was the only company that offered an accelerated method to save CU time and money when designing the system. As a result of the system deployed, CU now has the power to make more timely environmental analyses and better ensure that the organization remains in compliance," said Dave Fraley, CU's Director of Environmental Compliance.

EDSG founding member Joanne Schroeder said, "We are very excited to have worked with CU and provide benefit to their EHS workflows. We treat the relationship with them as a true partnership. Their satisfaction is a reflection on the project team's hard work, innovative approaches, and dedication to client service."

A Major U.S. Airline Airlines Selects EDSG to Implement Environmental Management Information System

FOOTHILL RANCH, CA, February 12, 2004 - A major U.S. airline has selected Environmental Data Solutions Group, LLC (EDSG) to design and implement a comprehensive environmental management information system (EMIS) to assist them in managing Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) data associated with 200 remote stations and hubs.

Under contract with a major U.S. airline, EDSG's scope of work will be to deploy a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) application combined with custom web components for enhanced user navigation and data mining. The nine modules include traditional environmental media (air/water/waste), as well as compliance management (corrective/preventative action tracking) with email notification and custom ticklers. Of the nine modules, the following modules will be comprised of custom components: incident management/reporting, environmental expenditure tracking, facility tracking, and document management.

This major U.S. airline, which boasts a long and distinctive history that began in 1934, selected EDSG because of their accelerated design methods and extensive knowledge of the airline industry. EDSG's accelerated requirements definition (ARD) method allowed this major U.S. airline to rapidly assess their needs and design an appropriate solution approach. Furthermore, EDSG's responsiveness and flexibility are key attributes that allow this major U.S. airline to utilize EDSG resources to get the most out of internal resources.

"EDSG was a clear choice for this major U.S. airline to design and deploy the information management system. From the beginning, their proven methods were efficient and provided us with greater value for the dollar. We are confident that once this system is fully deployed, our environmental staff will be even more efficient at their jobs, and environmental risk for the company will be further reduced," said Leah Raeny, Director of Environmental Affairs for a Major US Airline.

EDSG founding member Joanne Schroeder said, "We are very excited to be working with this major U.S. airline and provide benefit to their EHS workflows. We treat the relationship with them as a true partnership."

EDSG Wins Environmental Business Journal 2006 Business Achievement Award

Foothill Ranch, CA, January 17, 2007 – Environmental Data Solutions Group, LLC (EDSG) was honored by the Environmental Business Journal (EBJ) for a 2006 Business Achievement Award in the Technology Merit – Remediation category. The award recognizes the success of EDSG’s integrated Remediation Optimization System (iROS) in dramatically accelerating cleanup of a site in Southern California with approximately 4 million gallons of free product covering more than 20 acres. Initially, vacuum-enhanced free product recovery (VEFPR) was implemented as the remedial action, and the VEFPR system was expected to operate for 10 to 15 years, using four O&M technicians. EDSG integrated iROS into the VEFPR system. Preliminary results from monitoring wells show that free product in the formation is decreasing, and EDSG expects the site to be cleaned in 6 to 9 years using only 1 to 2 field technicians, thus reducing cleanup time and resources by half.

EDSG will receive the award at the 2006 EBJ Business Achievement Awards banquet on February 28, 2007, in conjunction with EBJ’s Fifth Annual Environmental Industry Summit in San Diego. The award will also be included in the Environmental Business Journal’s annual Executive Review issue in January 2007. A summary of the award-winning project can be viewed at http://www.ebiusa.com/awards2006/#techrem.

We are so pleased to receive this award,” says Bill Musser, P.E., a Partner with EDSG and inventor of iROS. “We were always aware of the leap in technology that iROS represents for remediation. But I am equally thrilled to see that a key publication like the Environmental Business Journal recognized the business value of iROS for minimizing cost and schedule.”

About iROS: iROS integrates three applications of technology to accelerate NAPL (light or dense) recovery. The technologies, developed by EDSG, include a Continuous Fluid Level Monitoring System (CFLMS), integrated Wireless Field Tools (WFT) and a Project Data Management Information System (PDMIS). CFLMS allows for remote control and operation of the well pump based on real-time measurement of NAPL level in the well to maximize free product recovery. Wireless Field Tools (WFT) are used to enter field-collected data directly into the PDMIS, thus eliminating the need for multiple entries of the same data, and allowing for real-time evaluation of the field-collected data by offsite project engineers and scientists. PDMIS is a data warehouse and query system that allows for storage and visualization of all project data, customized to the needs of the user. iROS, the integration of these three technologies, results in expedited cleanup at reduced costs.
