IT Business Analyst/Programmer Associate
Environmental Data Solutions Group, LLC (EDSG) is looking for an energetic information technology professional with business analysis and programming/scripting experience to help lead the design, implementation and development of management information systems. EDSG is a growing company that specializes in remediation and environmental, health and safety (EHS) consulting and management information system deployment.
The primary activities of the IT Business Analyst/Programmer position are three-fold:
- Provide business analysis and facilitation support in requirements gathering and technical requirements definition and documentation (20% of time)
- Provide technical implementation support for requirements as defined above (60% of time)
- Provide overall information system project oversight, including facilitation of other technical staff members support for specific project deliverables/tasks (20% of time)
The qualified candidate will be a self-starter, have excellent organization and communication skills with demonstrated willingness and desire to work technical issues to resolution. The ideal candidate will be a team player, have 5+ years experience and professional interests in some or all of the following areas:
- Software programming/scripting: SQL Server, T-SQL, IIS, MS .NET/ASP .NET, Web Parts, SharePoint, XHTML, JavaScript, XML, knowledge of how to use Visual Studio, etc.
- Database administration and maintenance (e.g. MS SQL Server)
- Windows Server OS
- Web page/portal development/management
- Web interface design and development
- Business/system analysis and requirements definition
- Data analysis/cleansing/migration
- Custom report development using 3rd party reporting tools (e.g. SQL Server Reports Server, Crystal Reports, Brio Query)
- Technical writing
- System design/requirements documentation
- Procedures/test plans
- Configuration/deployment of EHS and remediation commercial software applications, for example:
- OpsEnvironmental, ESS(Plantware), EVS, GISKey, etc.
Additional, secondary skills/areas of interest:
- Program Logic Control (PLC) programming
- HMI/SCADA system configuration and deployment
- Data historians
- Data warehousing
While not required, experience or knowledge of environmental remediation and/or EHS business processes and activities would be a plus (e.g. well boring, down-hole instrumentation, product/water separation, air/water/waste compliance management, permitting, etc.)
